This is one of the few films I have seen where I was left wanting more. There were non stop laughs, funny sight gags and wonderful actors.
You know those movies where you watch for the first 15 minutes and think this has got to get better soon? Then you wait another 10-15 more and realize....
Hilarious and sharp satire - great performances by all.
A scheming widow flees to the English countryside to settle the marriage prospects of her family. Some superb characters and performances in a patchy production.
I have read just about every Jane Austin novel and have seen many different versions of movies based on her books. As a guy, this makes me very unusual to say the least.
I don't know where to begin... not one redeeming feature.
I have watched Love & Friendship 5 times now the first 2 times in the cinema ( including a preview in Amsterdam with director Whit Stillman present) and was dissapointed. As a huge Austen-fan (books & film/tv-adaptations) I had high expectations about L&F.
Greetings again from the darkness. Jane Austen ROCKS!
"Love And Friendship" is not classified as a comedy but that's the only way it succeeds. Our website calls it a drama/romance but those labels don't capture the essence of Jane Austen's late 18th century novella, gorgeously filmed and impeccably acted by a predominantly British cast.
