I heard the book had flat characters and a bad depiction of mental illness. safe to say this was a fantastic adaptation of that.
The movie is a heart warming, light hearted and impactfull film. The romance is brilliant.

Although the book itself is quite dark and even violent at times, you always get the image of Finch being selfless, and Violet slowing healing. However, as time passes, she becomes increasingly herself again, and Finch grows worse.
I read the synopsis for All the Bright Places, and, having never read the book that it's based on, I thought that it sounded like an interesting story. It was also one that could have fell completely flat, but I was interested to see which direction it went in.
