Pippa Lee is 'the perfect artist's wife' who decides one day that she no longer wishes to be an enigma. And so a rather ponderous voice over begins where Pippa tells about the highlights, and lowlights, of her life to date.

Robin Wright is very good as Pippa Sarkissian, who is a disaffected rock chick and party girl, living a life of partying then she meets successful businessman Alan Arkin on the beach one summer marries him and settles into life of middle age.Not the kind of life for a vibrant woman who still has dreams, passion, and is attracted to 35 year old Keanu reeves ( a hilarious scene as she is in bed with him and his mother pops in the bedroom).

It's just my opinion that this is an unpleasant film to watch. There is a lot that is good about it, and even I enjoyed certain things.

Pippa Lee (Robin Wright) feels lost after her older husband Herb (Alan Arkin) move them from Manhattan to a Connecticut retirement community. It's a place of quiet death and she's slowing breaking down.

I enjoyed this movie very much. It is the story of a woman who gives all of herself to an older husband after a tragic event in her life and becomes all to everyone and loses herself in the process.

I'm not really sure what to think about this movie but it was a decent character study. When a lot of people look at older women, they don't see the full range of experiences those women had in "youth" or that it's even the same person.

Re-released even though it doesn't say it, this movie was made and shown around 1993.

Loved the movie, but I think I loved the soundtrack more! Problem is that there wasn't one so I had to use itunes to make my own.

One would say that the screenwriter has written his own marital relationship. the story starts off well but little by little it starts to derail.
