Alfie with more sex was the selling point...but not enough sex as after it's first release it had extra scenes cut in.
Director/editor/writer/best boy/tea lady Donovan Winter loves him some zoom lens. His camera zooms in and out on various objects as women squeal in delight whilst being serviced by fashionable blonde boy toy Peter (Christopher Matthews).
This is a pretty lame British sex comedy about a young lothario who drives around in his car and unaccountably manages to seduce a whole bunch of women (it is kind of suggested eventually that the whole thing is just his fantasy, which frankly makes a whole lot more sense). Being set in 1960's London this movie has a little bit of kitsch value, even though it is nowhere near in the class of "Cool It, Carol", "Goodbye Gemini", or its two most obvious models--"Blow Up" and "Alfie".
Former actor Donovan Winter chose the comedy genre for his directing debut in 1960, but his follow-up feature, a nudist movie entitled World Without Shame was more a sign of things to come. Winter really came into his own in the Seventies with a string of British exploitation movies for his own Donwin company of which The Deadly Females (1976) is his warped masterpiece.
