Arthur makes a big deal about being called "DefenDOR", yet when he's talking with Kat, he calls himself "Defender".

Near the end, Dooney slaps Kat while standing in one place.

In the next shot he is standing at least five feet from her, not nearly close enough to be able to reach her face without moving.

The fact that this writer/director claims the idea for the script just "came to him all at once" two years after Save the Green Planet is very hard to believe. Yes there ARE differences...

Not your typical superhero movie, Defendor is rooted in the average guy who just won't take it anymore, Arthur Poppington knows what's wrong and what's right... which in today's society is rare.

Touching, funny, charming, heart-breaking, optimistic--and so little known. This film is on my special list--the one with the films and books that if folks like 'em, I know I'll like the folks.

Defendor has some potential, a good basic story and some very good acting, but it's far too simplistic to actually make good on its promise it swings the line between realism and fantasy and between drama, action and dark comedy so much, that it misses all of them. Especially if you're a fan of superhero comics, you'll realize that as far as Defendor is concerned, the genre stopped in the early 90's, and it tries to deconstruct concepts that have been deconstructed to hell and back over the last two decades.

I was entertained, but some parts are just too dumb, a mafia boss orders his death, one of the goons uses a sub machine gun to shoot him, but he's using "training bullets", what are training bullets?! Why would he have them, isn't he a mafia goon?

Another, forgettable movie about a regular, albeit perhaps mentally impaired, guy playing superhero despite a distinct lack of supernatural powers or Bruce Wayne's wealth, "Defendor" follows films such as "Hero at Large" (1980) and "Special" (2006) and anticipates the likes of "Griff the Invisible," "Kick-Ass" and "Super" (all 2010). This one is definitively on the schmaltzy side of, say, the ultra-violence of the "Kiss-Ass" series or the dark tone of "Super," but a lot of the same notes are played.

Suitably dark, and Avenging. An Easy made story at most, elevated by a strong performance from Harrelson.

Even though WH pulls off his character, this movie just doesn't pull you in completely. There's just something missing in it.

Movie came to me through a list of underrated superhero- movies of youtube channel. Never heard of it and never found people mentioning it on movie-topics.
