After Verona is refused admission on her flight from Phoenix to Madison, she and Burt take the train from a station clearly marked 'Phoenix'.

Phoenix is the largest US city without intercity rail service.

When Burt and Verona arrive at her childhood home, the scene cuts back and forth between a shot through the house towards the water, and a shot from that side back through the door they originally entered.

The shots featuring the shore front side of the house show a strong breeze and lots of tree movement, while the shots looking the other direction show no wind and the trees completely still.

When they are walking with Ellen, the baby is asleep in some shots and awake in others.

Shortly after Burt and Verona leave Burt's parents' house in Colorado, two green signs can be seen outside their car window.

Once sign says 'Ridgefield' and the other says 'Connecticut'.

While visiting Tom and Munch's family, Burt is show being tied up by the family's kids.

In that scene he wears Wallabees.

In the next shot, showing Burt and Verona leaving the house, he is wearing sneakers.

Burt refers to "Chechnyan" orphans.

The people of Chechnya, are however, known as Chechens.

When Burt and Verona board their train to go to Wisconsin, they step into one of Amtrak's curved-sided, late-twentieth-century "Amfleet" cars (a type of car in which no sleeping accommodations currently exist).

The train appears to consist largely or entirely of such cars.

In the next shot, however, the interior of their car is seen to be that of a mid-twentieth-century North-American-type sleeping car, one that would have to be straight-sided in order for the bunks shown to fit into the room as they do.

Later, Burt and Verona are shown sitting at a table in another straight-sided mid-twentieth-century car, a dining or lounge car (it's not clear which) that does not resemble any such car that Amtrak has used in the past twenty-five years or more.

During Burt and Verona's night out in Montreal, several landmarks from Stamford, Connecticut appear, namely the Palace Theater and Remo's restaurant.

When Munch Garnett ('Melanie Lynsky') is dancing on the stage in the club she is wearing a short sleeve black top - when she is walking off the stage she is wearing a sleeveless top.
