Ian Hunter is a singer-songwriter who first gained fame as the lead singer of the English rock band Mott the Hoople.
Smooth, pleasant-looking, fair-haired British leading man (born in South Africa) with patrician good looks and Leslie Howard -like panache who sustained productive film careers in both England and Hollywood for most of his four-decade career opposite more florid female stars, such as Bette Davis.
