Claudia Christian was born on August 10, 1965, in Glendale, California. Her family moved to Connecticut some afterwards. At age five, she was bitten by the acting bug when she played a Native American in a school play. After her family returned to California, she graduated high school at 16, and set out to start her acting career. She worked in a coffee house and then at a clothing store for two years before landing her first acting role on the soap _"Dallas" . Her grandfather is a surgeon and her three older brothers are genetic engineers and veterinarians. Claudia enjoys listening to opera, painting, extreme sports, playing piano, collecting antiques and hosting dinner parties. She is fluent in French, Italian and German and enjoys acting in these languages. Claudia was voted "sexiest woman in sci-fi" by SFX Magazine in 1998.
Plays piano and guitar. She also writes music and is a singer. She has released four albums, "Taboo", "Claudia Squared", "Once Upon a Time" and "Area 51".
She worked in a coffee shop and then clothing store for two years before getting her first professional acting appearance in an episode of the soap, "Dallas" in 1984.
Has written a series of childrens books called "The Misadventures of Miss Emma Bradford."
She enjoys listening to opera, painting and collecting antiques.

Literally traded places with Tracy Scoggins in 1998: Christian left "Babylon 5" to appear on "Highlander" as "Katherine", while Scoggins left "Highlander" to appear on "Babylon 5" as "Captain Lochley".
Once married to screenwriter/producer Gary DeVore who was 25 years older than she. They divorced in 1992 after only 3 years and he later remarried.
While filming The Hidden , her cornea was scratched by a spark from a prop gun that she fired. From then on she blinked each time she had to shoot a prop gun. The exception was in "Babylon 5" , where all she had to do was point the gun, with the "firing" special effects to be added in later.

Wore one earring throughout the production of Babylon 5. In the story, it was because she gave one of her lucky earrings to her brother (Ganya Ivanov), who was later killed in action (Babylon 5 movie: In The Beginning), but in reality it was for her elder brother Patrick, who was killed by a drunk driver when she was 8 years old.
When Gary DeVore disappeared in mysterious circumstances, Claudia hired private investigators and ex-marines to look for him. His car was later discovered in an aqueduct, some distance from the highway, but when the marines swept it earlier, the car was not there.
