Biography

Douglas Christopher Judge was born and raised in Los Angeles, and is of African-American and Cherokee ancestry. Judge always knew that he wanted to be an actor, wanting to invoke feelings in others that he was receiving from the shows. He realized quickly that sports would be the stepping stone to an acting career. Attending the University of Oregon on a football scholarship, Judge led in kickoff return yardage for 1983-84 and interceptions in 1984, in addition to earning the Casanova Award in 1982 .

Father, with Margaret Judge (nee Margaret Schinke), of Cameron Judge, Christopher Judge and Catrina Judge, and with Gianna Patton , of Chloe Judge.

During college, he entered a contest to host the West Coast FOX KLSR Morning Show. His five minute dialogue won.

Attended the University of Oregon on a football scholarship. Studied telecommunications and film. He played defensive safety and played in the Hula Bowl his senior year.

His best friend is "Stargate SG-1" co-star Michael Shanks.

Of the five original "Stargate SG-1" regulars, he is the only one who did not appear in the first season of the spin-off series "Stargate: Atlantis" .

His character, "Hector", was killed by "Remiel", played by Michael Shanks , in the "Andromeda" episode, "Andromeda" {Day of Judgement, Day of Wrath (#3.21)} . In the "Stargate SG-1" episode, "Stargate SG-1" {Moebius: Part 2 (#8.20)} , his character, "Tealc", killed Shanks character, "Dr. Daniel Jackson".

(7 February 2005) His fiance, actress/model Gianna Patton , gave birth to their first child, a girl Chloe.

Christopher is his mothers maiden name.

Of the four original "Stargate SG-1" team members from the hit sci-fi series "Stargate SG-1" , he appeared in the most episodes (212). Amanda Tapping was in 207 episodes, Michael Shanks was in 197 and Richard Dean Anderson only appeared in 175.

According to the DVD commentary for "Stargate SG-1" Season 3, while filming the episode, "Stargate SG-1" {Urgo (#3.16) , Judge found guest star Dom DeLuise so hilarious, it proved nearly impossible for him to maintain a straight face around DeLuise while cameras were rolling, mainly due to DeLuises constant improvising on the set, which was something of an issue, given the normally stone-faced, stoic demeanor of Judges character, "Tealc". As such, everyone agreed to scale back the scenes involving Tealc, giving many of his characters lines to other cast members.
