Colonel Jack O'Neill (Richard Dean Anderson) leads SG-1 with Dr. Daniel Jackson (Michael Shanks), Teal'c (Christopher Judge), and Major Samantha Carter (Amanda Tapping) as they explore the universe.
One of the best shows ever made, up with the likes of Firefly and DrWho. Took a decent movie and made an epic story.
I think for most commentary about Cornell Oneil is just blah, blah, blah. We need that character sarcastic whatever.
I've been watching it from when I was young, still watching it today. I just started season 1.
Apart from the faltering baby steps of season 1 (puppy dog Carter desperate to be liked & respected, comparisons of reproductive organs etc), this series found its feet in season 2 and went on to be one of the most successful franchises ever. The chemistry between the main characters rarely faltered, aided by superb writing.
Watching (the first episode of) this show reminded me of how things have changed in the past two decades. All good producers, writers and actors got tired of Hollywood and moved to television.
I really like this episode. It show how good the actors are for mimicking each other.
To me there are two SG-1's. Seasons 1,9, & 10 should have been lost in some distant galaxy and forgotten ever existed.
What can I say, this is by the best (or at least my favorite) Science Fiction show of all time. First and foremost, the characters made the show what it is today the most successful (longest running) Television Show of all time.
