Raised in the South, Beth Grant moved frequently as a child and enjoys claiming several towns and cities in Alabama, Georgia, and North Carolina as home. She was a Page in the North Carolina Senate, attended the North Carolina Governor's School for Gifted and Talented students, and received a governor's appointment at the age of nineteen. Grant was president of the East Carolina University College Democrats for two years, receiving the Outstanding College Democrat Award from then Senator 'Edmund Muskie' .
She is the great, great niece, by marriage, of Joel Chandler Harris , who wrote the Uncle Remus Tales on which Disneys Song of the South was based.
Has, at current count, four cats and one dog.
When she was a little girl, she wanted to be a veterinarian and a movie star. Her sister-in-law is Dr. Mary Grant, a veterinarian for the state of North Carolina.
Beth has a brother named Bubba who lives in North Carolina and is a graduate of ECU, Beths Alma Mater.

She was part of the cast of two films that won the SAG Best Ensemble Award two years in a row with Little Miss Sunshine and No Country for Old Men . However, her name wasnt included for those awards due to an eligibility rule from SAG that only nominates/awards actors in ensemble when their names get a sole credit during the titles, and not along with other cast member.
As of 2016, has appeared in four films that were nominated for the Best Picture Oscar: Rain Man , Little Miss Sunshine , No Country for Old Men and The Artist (2011/I) . With the exception of Little Miss Sunshine , the other three are winners in the category.
