I'm all for art and wand creativity when it comes to movies and even looking outside my own culture. I saw nothing that will say masterpiece like someone of these people are writing about.
This is not the movie you are looking for.Seriously, this title, credited to director: Ela Troyano, is not the gay themed story of Lincoln Bloom and Vietnamese-born John and their adventures in the Mississippi delta.
Glossy it ain't. Musical it ain't.
I cannot think of anything that was good about this film. The acting was poor, the editing was sloppy, the plot was embarrassing, and the sound was often muddy.
The Delta is one of the poorer films that I have seen in the past 25 years. The first part of the story was interesting because of the cute guy who was unsure of himself.
This film is a very bad example of uninspired storytelling, which tries to hide behind an "artfilm" facade, trying to shock the audience with unmotivated violence (against women) to cover up for it's lack of psychological depth of the characters & internal conflicts. Everything in this movie is pretentious, from the thank you's to Bela tarr at the beginning, to the photography, the acting, music, the story & editing.
Hungary can't make any good movies. Fact.
Found the season premiere of this on one of my old videotapes. A cool concept that turned out to be pretty lame.
