Vesa-Matti "Vesku" Loiri (born January 4, 1945 in Helsinki, Finland) is a well known Finnish actor, comedian and musician. He started as an actor at 1962 with his role at the movie Pojat (= Boys) by the director Mikko Niskanen. He has done dozens of roles and is best known for his Uuno Turhapuro character in 19 Uuno-films. Besides being a singer, Loiri is also a professional flutist. His first album "4+20" came out in 1971, and after that he has released over 20 albums.
Has two sons (b. 1995 and 1996) with Stina Toljander

Is nearly as well known as a singer. He has recorded several albums, from folk songs and couplets to tangos. Some of his recordings are based on the lyrics of Hermann Hesse or Eino Leino, the famous Finnish poet.
He is very popular singer in Finland. He has been awarded three gold records and for six platinum record. His album "Eino Leino" is 23th most sold Finnish album for its 117,903 sales.
He is skilled player of snooker & pool.
Producer Joonas Loiri is his son.
Three of his albums has been awarded gold, 6 of them platinum.
Finnish entry in The Eurovision Song Contest in 1980.
During his long career as singer he has been awarded several times in Finland. In 1986 he won Special Emma, in 2003 as Best Male Singer, in 2003 award for Best Finnish Music Album, in 2006 as Best Male Singer and in 2007 as Best Male Singer.
Has two children with his girlfriend Stina; Ukko (born 1995) and Sampo (born 1996). Loiri has also been engaged with Marita Hakala 1989-1993.
Has two children with his third wife Riitta; Jenni (born 1979) and Joonas.
Had one child with his second wife Mona, who died in a car accident at 1977. Their son Jani also died in a car accident at 1994.
