Biography

Verbal was born on August 21st, 1975 in Tokyo of Korean descent. Verbal studied math in New York where he became exposed to American Hip-hop. Inspirations and influences include Gang Starr, Company Flow, Ras Kass, RUN D.M.C., A Tribe Called Quest, Leaders of the New Skool, De La Soul, and Stetsa Sonic. Verbal uses a unique blend of English and Japanese while rapping and is a member of the popular duo, m-flo. Verbal is also part of the six man group, MIC BANDITZ and raps in english under his L Universe guise. Verbal is head of his label Espionage Records which is home to the MIC BANDITZ and the female duo, Heartsdales. In 2005, Bathing Ape founder, NIGO, recruited Verbal to be a member of his hip-hop super group, the Teriyaki Boyz. The group released their debut album under the Def Jam Japan label at the end of 2005.
