American rock band that was formed in 2001, by Brandon Flowers (lead vocals, keyboards, bass) and Dave Keuning (lead guitar, backing vocals). The band originated in Las Vegas, Nevada. The name The Killers is derived from a logo on the bass drum of a fictitious band portrayed in the music video for the [A=New Order] Song [b]Crystal[/b].

[2005] Eric Roberts was in their music video "Mr. Bright Side".

Brandon Flowers was a bellhop for a while at the Gold Coast Hotel; Dave Keuning , who was originally from Pella, Iowa, but moved to Las Vegas in early 2000, worked at a Banana Republic; Mark Stoermer worked as a medical courier delivering various medical supplies; and Ronnie Vannucci was a student of classical percussion at UNLV and worked as a photographer at the Little Chapel of Flowers.

Dave Keuning s old stage name, which he no longer uses, was "Tavian Go".

Won Best New Artist in a Video at the 2005 MTV VMAs. They were also nominated for Best Rock Video, Best Group Video, and Best Art Direction in a Video for "Mr. Brightside".

Brandon Flowers married his longtime girlfriend Tana on 2 August, 2005 in Hawaii.
