His grandfather, Herman Lubinsky Sr., founded Savoy Records in Newark, N.J. and introduced acts that would be influential in modern popular music (Doo-Wop, Motown, disco and Top 40). He also founded and operated New Jerseys first radio station, WNJ. His uncle, "Buzzy", was also a well-known disc jockey in New Jersey.
Primarily a Pittsburgh radio host at WJRZ-FM, but is also the executive producer/director of many PBS pledge-drive programs.
