Swel Noury was born in Casablanca, Morocco. Son of Hakim Noury, a famous Moroccan film director and Pilar Cazorla, a Spanish producer. Growing up, Swel was always artistic: he loved litterature, movies, music, fashion. In 1996, after high school, Swel went to Paris, France to study finance. Graduated from Paris Business School he started working as a financial analyst. At the same time, he studied Siamese and decided to live in Bangkok, Thailand for a while. During those years, Swel spent much of his time delving into the world of literature and creating his own works of fiction. Back in Madrid, Spain in 2001, he decided to concentrate on writing his first script. To survive he started working in all kind of jobs: cooker, steward, social educator in a juvenile prison, teacher, translator, always looking for more exciting, real and visceral experiences. Since they were kids, Swel and his brother Imad, have been immersed in filmmaking. Having worked as young teenagers in their father's movies , they have come to know the industry intimately.
