Biography

Stuart Ferreyra was born in Los Angeles, CA but grew up from the age of one in Lima, capital of Peru. After finishing high school at 15 y/o he enrolled in Medical school. Three years later before his 18th birthday he decided to switch to Audio Visual Communications and Multimedia with an emphasis in Film, Television and Sound. While in Communications school, Stuart produced and post produced a few specials for Peru's government TV channel. He also took a high interest in sound, got involved in the music industry and toured Peru as a freelance sound mixer mixing live shows for local and international rock bands. After a few years at 22, he decided to go back to the U.S. to set foot in California. In Los Angeles with limited resources and not speaking English, Stuart took on a variety of odd jobs always searching for the opportunity to get back in the entertainment industry. After two years he landed a job at a duplication house making copies of movies and also worked on the weekends for a local theme park sound mixing their special live shows. While at the duplication house he also volunteered to edit compilation trailers. Seeing potential, the owners switched his position from video duplicator to junior editor. Within 3 years, he got promoted from junior editor, to editor, to lead editor. Soon after he was promoted to Senior Editor and given the chance to work on one of the brand new and at the time rare Avid Non-Linear edit systems. He recognized this would be the future of his professional career and took it head on. In 2000 with the newly released Apple Final Cut Pro v1 and more accessible technology, Stuart invested in a home entry level non-linear edit system based on Apple's brand new software in order to supplement his income. A year and a half later in September 2001 he left his full time job and founded Timecode Multimedia, an owner operated post production boutique offering services to independent producers and film makers. By early 2004, he integrated services for DVD Authoring and a new passion of his, Picture Finishing and Color Grading. Stuart's body of work runs in the hundreds of projects for television, film and advertising. He has been a Professional Senior Colorist and Finishing Editor since 2004. He honed his color grading skills through private mentorships and self-teaching. He still is one of original leaders for the Creative COW in the FCP, RED, and Color forums. He is featured in Apple's Color Grading tutorial workshop executive produced by Noah Kadner. He continues to speak at industry trade shows and provides consulting services for different companies. He is continuously evolving and developing new techniques to achieve more efficient, attractive and refined color palettes that convey the artistic vision of his clients. In 2015 he re-branded Timecode Multimedia into TIMECODE POST a post-production boutique in Santa Monica, CA for creative clients in advertising, film making, television, digital content and high-adrenaline action sports. In 2017, Stuart became a member of the Colorist Society International.
