Biography

Steffen Schmidt is a German-American Film Composer and conductor best known for his scores for "Passage To Mars" by Jules Verne Adventures and NASA, "Assassinating The Tiger" a Chinese KungFu Film, and "The Way Home", as well as other projects for television. Beginning his musical journey at a young age, Steffen studied violin at the age of 4 and few up in a classical household in Lake Oswego, Oregon. By the time he turned 8, Steffen was already performing in local symphony orchestras which would later include tours to Europe and China. It was the discovery of Jerry Goldsmith's music for Film and TV that truly inspired Steffen to pursue his primary passion - film scoring. Steffen's career party lead him to Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, where he received a North American Tour Scholarship and studied personally with Hollywood film composer, George S. Clinton.
