Born and raised in the Netherlands, Stefanie Joosten moved to Japan as a student in Japanese studies. She found a modeling agency that hires western models. She is a fan of anime and video games who unknowingly got to audition for the new "Metal Gear", Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and would be cast as the voice and motion capture of Quiet. In addition, the character is modeled after Joosten's likeness.
Although her native Language is Dutch, Joosten speaks fluent Japanese and advanced English.
