Stanley James Browne was born on December 15th, 1970 at The Mothers' Hospital in Clapton, Hackney, East London, UK. He is the middle of three children of a bank clerk mother, Joy Rosemary Brown, from Manchester, Jamaica. After leaving secondary school, Stanley enrolled at Waltham Forest collage intent on a career in Art, Design and fashion. However, he caught the acting bug while appearing in student drama productions and, upon graduation , touring Ireland for three months and was praised by audiences and critics alike - for his portrayal of one of theatres most challenging roles. He went on to receive rave reviews, of which Irish Theatre Magazine described his performance as follows: "This absorbing revival soundly delivers a new Othello for our times, raising the plays profile to long overdue recognition".
