Biography

Leonidas Dacul Stanescu, born Demetrio Leonidas Stanescu Motatu in 1974 January 25th in Germany from Romanian immigrants is a Romanian-Spanish actor based in Singapore who decided to start following his true passion in acting in his early 40s. Encouraged and supported by his family and friends started to combine his stable job, dental technician, with extra and supporting roles in short films, TVC and corporate videos. His first big chance arrived within 6 months since he started when he was selected to be lead role in the feature film The Wheelchair, produced, written and directed by Raj Pathie. This film was not commercialized but submitted to a couple of international film festivals. This film allowed Leonidas to learn a lot about the hard work behind the camera, in the production and post-production stages. When he was not working in other people's projects he decided to explore by himself script-writing, video shooting and video editing, as well as music jamming for his own experimental projects. He gave life to Manfred Brushweek and Rafael Rapapopulos in the mini-episodes series Crazy News, two opposing characters who have nothing better to do but to argue each other in a funny and comical way. His work can be found in his YouTube channel. His determination, drive and "thirst" for acting keep him fighting for his dream despite the fact he started acting at a quite advanced age. He is convinced that if you put your entire heart in what your are doing you will definitely reach your goals, no matter how impossible they seem to be
