Biography

Simon was born in North London but grew up on the South Coast of England. His love of storytelling and cinema has seen him explore various guises since graduating with a Film Studies degree in 1999. After bouts in telecine houses and production companies, then as a researcher and a camera assistant on many commercial, music video and film shoots, he turned to writing. He has been commissioned to rewrite several screenplays, by companies from London to Los Angeles. He began directing in 2008, creating music videos for local bands that he often wrote, lit, filmed, produced, directed and edited himself. This lead to him directing branded content for Bacardi UK and Bacardi Europe, documentary in New Orleans, his well-received feature documentary Eva Cassidy: Timeless Voice, which aired on Sky Arts, and his short films, 'Feminine Incite', in 2016 and 'Burned' in 2017, both of which he wrote. 'Boogie Man', a feature film he wrote and co-created with its director Andrew Morahan, is the first feature project of Simon's to go before the cameras. He has several other feature projects in various stages of development.
