Biography

Originally from Pakistan, Shahana has an Acting background in Theatre in the country's capital Islamabad, as well as Film, TV Commercial and Radio work. She has acted in numerous theatre productions while her debut in film was in the internationally acclaimed 'Slackistan' produced by Big Upstairs Productions. She also hosted a regular Radio show called 'The Rush Hour' for Pakistan's premiere English radio network CityFM 89. Later she and her mentor Shayan Afzal Khan took on the responsibility of setting up an Arts & Culture venue called Kuch Khaas - Centre for Arts, Culture & Dialogue in her hometown Islamabad, which today reigns as the go-to spot for expression and creativity in the city. It was here that she also became a regular in the sketch group 'Insolent Knights' for which she wrote and performed live shows for TinyTwo Productions. During this time, Shahana developed a passion for production and produced various web sketches and shorts, which eventually led her to pursue an education in Film & Television Production Technique in Cape Town, South Africa. Following this, under the mentorship of Producer Rohail Hyatt, Shahana was recruited as the International Production Manager for Pakistan's biggest television production - Coke Studio Pakistan in its sixth season with production running in seven countries. Upon its completion, Shahana decided it was time to return to her original passion and was accepted at the renowned Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in New York City to study Acting. She has worked as a Director, Editor and Cinematographer in New York City. Her work has been televised in both Pakistan and the United States.
