Biography

Sean McCarthy was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. While he has always been artistically driven, Sean developed his love of filmmaking in high school. Completing several short films by graduation, Sean realized his undeniable love for the art form and knew that wherever he ended up, film would always be a major passion in his life. His film education began with film camp at UCLA and a summer course at the New York Film Academy where he was first introduced to the complexities of directing, editing and cinematography. Sean continued his education at USC, where he majored in Communications with an emphasis on marketing. After graduation, Sean began an internship at Imprint Entertainment, a production company located on the Universal Studios back lot whose previous credits included Percy Jackson & the Olympians, The Stepfather, and The Twilight Saga. During his tenure there, Sean was given the title of Creative Executive, a position where he developed creative content for the company. Finally being given a chance to stretch his director's legs, Sean was given the opportunity to direct and edit an episodic web-series entitled "Ask the Easy Chick" for one of Imprint's writing clients. Yearning to acquire more on-set experience, Sean worked as a production assistant on several low budget features being shot in the L.A. area. Eventually, he graduated from PA to Grip & Electric where he met his colleague, Ben Burke. McCarthy and Burke have worked together as crew on several low budget features, but now intend to take the reins and produce and direct the type of films that they feel will entertain others. This creative team has several promising projects on the horizon. Sean is also a professional graphic designer who has created posters and marketing materials for numerous film and fashion companies.
