Daughter of Geoffrey Lancashire , an early scriptwriter for "Coronation Street" .
Gave birth to her new son Joseph Peter at Londons Portland Hospital on 26 March 2003 weighing in at 8lb 2oz. She and TV executive husband Peter Salmon now have six boys between them.
Graduated from Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 1986.
Mother of Thomas Alan (b. August 1987) and Matthew Joseph Hargreaves (b. August 1989) from her 1st marriage.
She was awarded the OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2017 Queens Birthday Honours List for her services to Drama in London, England.
