Creator of the beloved Swedish comic strip character 91:an Karlsson.
He was known as a very shy man without remarkably many social contacts; he reportedly never got over the loss of his wife, and during the last years of his life, he developed an increasing addiction to alcohol.
His 91:an Karlsson was the first Swedish comic strip character to take the step onto the silver screen; later, other well known characters such as Kronblom and Biffen & Bananen would also appear in full-length features.
