Biography

Best remembered for his raunchy humor, Robin Harris became famous in supporting roles in movies such as Do The Right Thing as Sweet Dick Willie and House Party. He has left a legacy that fans and actors will truly miss due to his career which was cut by a massive heart attack at the age of 36. Spike Lee dedicated Mo'Better Blues to Harris after his untimely death.

Stand-up comic turned actor.

Best known for his recurring comic sketch about Bebes Kids.

Was best friends with Robert Townsend , and Spike Lee.

The Hudlin Brothers had intended to make a feature film based upon the "Bebes Kids" sketches, but Harris passed away while the film was in preproduction.

He was a close friend of Bernie Mac.

Father of two sons. Robin never lived to see the birth of his second son Robin Harris Jr., who was born sometime after his death.

Graduated from Manual Arts High School in 1971, and later attended Ottawa University in Kansas on a track scholarship.

Prior to acting, he worked for Hughes Aircraft, a rental car company, and Security Pacific Bank. During the 1980s, Harris worked as the master of ceremonies at The Comedy Act Theater.

Lived in Los Angeles, California for most of his life.

The comedy album "Bebes Kids" was released shortly after his death. Recorded live in Los Angeles in over two time periods (October 1989 at The Comedy Act Theater and March 1990 at The Comedy Crunch), the release of "Bebes Kids" fulfilled Harris wish to release a comedy album.
