Robert Xavier Modica graduated from Adelphi College in 1957, a speech major. A popular student at Adelphi, he was co-president of his class of 1957 and active in sports; remembered as a football, soccer and lacrosse star. He was also a highly regarded performer in the theater and member of Gold Mask at the the Garden City, NY school.
Mr. Modica has taught acting in New York City since 1959.

Robert Modica taught theater at Grover Cleveland High School on the Brooklyn-Queens border in New York City in the late 1950s and early 1960s before he left for LA and appeared in Love Story. His productions were often over the top - somehow there was always money from the PTA to finance a trip to Century Lighting Supply in Mahanttan to rent a truckload of equipment to supplement the stage lighting.
