He was a Labour MP between 1976 and 1983.

(Friday January 9th 2004) The BBC halted his "Day to Day" programme after he made controversial remarks about Arabs in a newspaper article.

[June 2004] Became an MEP for the UK Independence Party (UKIP), winning his seat by 26%, and helping the party jump to third highest votes in the Country, quadrupling its seats in the Euro elections.

On 14 June 2004 he was elected as MEP (Member of the European Parliament) for the East Midlands, representing the UK Independence Party which campaigns for the UK to withdraw from Europe so it may govern itself without interference from Brussels.

[February 2005] Left UKIP to form his own political party "Veritas" (which is Latin for "truth").

Silk was his real fathers name who was killed in action when he was just a baby, and Kilroy is his stepfathers surname from when his mother remarried.
