Biography

Engaged in a Masters program in film at UNC-Chapel Hill, Robbie was lured to Wilmington, NC in 1985 by the possibility off working at the nascent Dino DeLaurentiis Film Studio. Finding work as a set dresser on "King Kong Lives," Robbie then continued a multiple production art department apprenticeship under the tutelage of Oscar nominated Set Decorator Hugh Scaife. Having worked as a set dresser on films like "From the Hip," "Illegally Yours" and the critically acclaimed "Bull Durham," Beck graduated to lead man for the Touchstone Picture "Mr. Destiny" and 20th Century Fox's "29th Street" and found a further role in set dressing procurement for James Cameron's "The Abyss". Beck's break into the role of Property Master came with the hit film "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," and continued with a string of popular films including "Betsy's Wedding," "Empire Records," and "Heavy Weights". Beck then worked a series of films by the side of two-time Oscar Winning Production Designer John Myhre, including "Foxfire," "Airborne" and "What's Eating Gilbert Grape". Beck was then tapped to assemble props for "Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood," and joined Oscar winning Production Designer Patrizia von Brandenstein for a stint on "Nights in Rodanthe". His most recent film projects include "The Conjuring" and TNT's "Good Behavior.
