At one time coached the Boston University Roller Hockey team for the Collegiate Roller Hockey League.

He and Shii Ann Huang are the only contestants competing in "Survivor All-Stars" who were not members of the "jury" that decided the winners in their previous "Survivor" attempts.

Is engaged to fellow Survivor All-Star Amber Mariano.

Proposed to Amber Brkich on national television, before she won a million dollars on Survivor.

Won a "Survivor" series-record 16 challenges (reward and immunity) as both a tribe member and individually in his appearance on "Survivor: All-Stars" (Has since been broken by Tom Westman , who won 17 on "Survivor: Palau.")

For a special wedding present, he bought Amber a house and a pair of real diamond earrings (because she always wore fake). She bought him a Boston Red Socks painting, (as he is a huge fan) and got it signed by the players. She also made him a necklace filled with sand from Panama (where they fell in love) and sand from the Bahamas (where they were married).

His wife, Amber, gave birth to their second child, a baby girl, Carina Rose Mariano, on December 10, 2010.

He and wife Amber welcomed their first daughter, Lucia Rose, on July 4, 2009.

After 3 previously failed attempts, he finally won Survivor Redemption Island.

Played "Survivor" a record 4 times and played for a record total of 117 days. One of five players to make it to two finals, others being Sandra Diaz-Twine , Parvati Shallow , Russell Hantz , and Amanda Kimmel.

He and Russell Hantz are the only players to play "Survivor" more than twice and never sit on a jury.
