Rita, is an Actress/Host & former beauty queen from Venezuela of Panamanian/Greek decent, who,became the 1st person from San Antonio, Texas to become a "Castaway" the CBS Reality Show, Survivor. On film, Rita has had Lead Actress roles on ABC network's show "What Would You Do?" as well as several Indie films. Her career on film started with a role on the feature film "Marked For Death," with Steven Seagal. On television she has been a Guest Host on HSN & Fox's Utilisima network & MSN Latin as well as a Correspondent and Producer on the internet show "Latin Connection TV," and an In-Arena Host for the San Antonio Spurs Org. Rita has also been featured as a "Runway/Beauty Pageant" Expert on the Canadian TV show "Reality Obsessed," which received a Canadian Emmy nomination. Rita is also a highly requested Emcee for many Charity events. Breast Cancer, CFF and Special Needs are the causes most near and dear to her heart. Rita has received several awards for her work on television the "Outstanding Achievement in Entertainment" Award by the La Prensa Newspaper .

Related to former President of Panama, Arnulfo Arias. Her maternal grandmothers Uncle was Arnulfo Arias, former president of Panama (1940-41, 1949-51, and for 10 days in October 1968). Her Grandmothers name was Rosina Arias.
After being set up on "blind date", she went on to have a relationship with Peter Gabriel in the early 1990s and sang back up on the tail end of his Latin America tour.
