Trivia

Hunted the Nazis with the Allies in WW II.

Once worked for the CIA (when he was a student) in Berlin.

Brother-in-law of actress Andrea Domburg.

Winner of the renowned Dutch Gouden Kalf Award ("Gold Calf") in 1982, 1995 and 1999. The first one, he didnt show up to collect the prize, therefore the award went to Rutger Hauer by default. The second one, De Gooyer did collect the award, but thought of the granting of the award as a pathetic display, as he claimed in Taxi, a Dutch series hosted by Maarten Spanjer, who was also the taxi driver in this show. Stimulated and all worked up by Spanjer, to put the money where his mouth is, De Gooyer threw the Award out of the taxi window while driving in the night. The third award Gooyer received, was thrown out of the taxi window, this time directly by Spanjer who again hosted the show.
