Biography

His experience dates back to 1983 starting in the film industry as a visual effects coordinator, editor and post-production supervisor in big budget studio productions shot in Mexico like "Conan The Destroyer" and "Honey I Shrunk the Kids", later working as production coordinator and production supervisor, and Unit Production Manager for over 20 international feature films. For the past 17 years Ricardo Del Rio has been Line Producer, Co-Producer and Executive Producer but his credits also include films such as "Once Upon a Time in Mexico" and "Borderland" as 1st Assistant Director as well as , "John Carpenter's Vampires: Los Muertos", "Deadly Swarm" and "Vantage Point" as 2nd Unit Director. In 1999 Ricardo Del Río founded Art In Motion, through his company he managed or supervised the Mexico Units of films such as "Kill Bill Vol. 2", "The Heartbreak Kid", "The Cave", "You Don't Mess with the Zohan" and "Limitless". Through Art In Motion he has also Co-Produced and Line Produced over a dozen American feature films including "Nacho Libre" for Paramount Pictures, "The Matador" for The Mark Gordon Company, "The Mexican" for Dreamworks, "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" for Disney Studios, "Vantage Point" for Sony Pictures and "Fast & Furious" for Universal. Over the past three years Ricardo Del Rio Executive Produced "Little Boy" starring Emily Watson, John Wilkinson and Ben Chaplin and "Hands Of Stone" starring Robert De Niro, Edgar Ramirez, Usher, Ruben Blades and John Turturro. Last year Ricardo Del Rio Line Produced the Cuba Units for "The Fate of the Furious" and as a co-founder of the National Film Commission - México and the Puerto Vallarta Film Commission, Ricardo Del Río has worked very closely with Mexican Unions and Official Institutions to help develop a reliable film industry that can provide quality services in Latin America to any production regardless of its nationality, complexity or budget size.
