Biography

Rebecca Bustamante is represented by Taylor Royall in Baltimore. Favorite acting roles include the mother in the anti-bullying film 'Toobie', the Gilda's Club PSA featuring voiceover by Meryl Streep, Maryland Vehicle Association's PSA against teen drunk driving, and Sandi in 'Breaking In', recipient of various awards for cinematography and semi-finalist in the Tokyo International Film Festival. Acting highlights also include broadcast work for Ocean City, Interface Media, UMUC, the National Guard, the DEA, JC Penney, RadioShack, Blockbusters, Sally Beauty Supply, Frito-Lay, HomeVestors, Dell, Halliburton Oil, American Heart Association, Hidden Valley Ranch, Wet-n-Wild, and 'Walker, Texas Ranger'. She is President of Women in Film & Video DC. Early in her career, Rebecca was a company member of 24th St. Experiment Theater Co. and co-founded Jumpstart Performance Co. In Dallas, she founded the Cross-Cultural Artists Forum with support from the Non-Traditional Casting Project in New York City., and produced the new play festival 'Out of the Kitchen' at Theatre Three as an NTCP initiative. Before returning to SMU for her MFA in Acting, Rebecca was Artistic Director of The Gryphon Players, a classical theater company.

After Rebecca graduated with a BA in Speech & Theater cum laude from Lady of the Lake University, her mother, brother, and sister enrolled and earned degrees.

Women in Film & Video DC is nominated for the Mayors Arts Awards for Service in the Arts in Washington, DC for the second consecutive year . Rebecca is the President of the Board of Directors.

Rebeccas father, James Roderick Gross, can be found on the Wall of Honor at the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum in Virginia. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross for his service in the USAF.

An article about her anti-bullying film Toobie was published in the local rag, The Cecily Daily.

At the age of 21, Rebecca portrayed Agnes in the play Agnes of God for 9 straight months while attending undergraduate school. The show received standing ovations every single night of the run.

Rebeccas first paid acting role was Olivia in 24th St. Experiment Theater Companys production of Twelfth Night. She was originally cast as Maria, but "got the role" when the other actress husband became ill.
