Biography

Reba Nell McEntire is an American country music artist and actress. She began her career in the music industry as a high school student singing in the Kiowa High School band, on local radio shows with her siblings, and at rodeos.She has sometimes been referred to as "The Queen of Country". She is one of the best-selling artists of all time, having sold more 80 million records worldwide. In the early 1990s, McEntire branched into film starting with 1990's Tremors. She has since starred in the Broadway revival of Annie Get Your Gun and in her television sitcom, Reba (2001–2007), for which she was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series–Musical or Comedy.

Her sister, Susie Luchsinger, (Susie McEntire ) is a Christian music star.

Was James Cameron s first choice to play "the unsinkable" Molly Brown in Titanic . But she had to decline because her touring schedule overlapped the filming date.

Her father, Clark McEntire (1927- ), was world steer roping champion for the years 1957-1958 and 1961. He was inducted into the Rodeo Hall of Fame of the Rodeo Historical Society (a support group of the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum) in 1988.

Her grandfather, John Wesley McEntire (1897-1976), was world steer roping champion for 1934 and was also a calf roper. He was inducted into the Rodeo Hall of Fame of the Rodeo Historical Society (a support group of the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum) in 1984.

At one time, she was classmates with Garth Brooks in Oklahoma.

She was awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Recording at 7018 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California on September 18, 1998.

Was a bridesmaid in her Reba co-star, JoAnna Garcia Swisher s wedding.

Was a serious basketball player as a young girl.

Inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in March 2011.

Stepmother of Brandon Blackstock and aunt of Garett Beck.

I grew up in southeastern Oklahoma on a working cattle ranch, and it was always very romantic to me: The West, the cowboy, the Western way of life.
