Began as a newspaper reporter working for the Brooklyn Standard Union.
His play "Peace at Any Price", based on the sinking of the Lusitania, attracted the attention of former President Theodore Roosevelt , who congratulated him and urged the "good work" to continue.
At the time of his death he had three plays ready to be produced.
