Best-remembered on screen as the silent assassin Vargas in Thunderball . Acclaimed on stage as Professor Moriarty in Sherlock Holmes at the Aldwych Theatre in London and as Horatio in Hamlet at the Old Vic.

Was cast as Consul Seron in Doctor Who: The Keeper of Traken, but dropped out and was replaced by John Woodnutt.

Has acted in both The Doctor Who Franchise and the Eon James Bond film series.
