Biography

Peter wrote, produced and directed the thought provoking feature film 'Doonby' starring John Schneider . It was available on VOD in November 2013 and on DVD and in foreign markets in late 2014. The film won the Capra Award at LifeFest '12. In the 70s Peter set up his company's base at Bray Studios in UK and produced and directed major launch shows for national and international clients like Lyons, BMC, Reckitt & Colman, Imperial Foods etc. Products ranged from new automobile models to new brands of coffee, tea and air fresheners as well as a big new factory launch in North Africa. Presenters were of the calibre of Bob Monkhouse and Terry Wogan. Performers included Sacha Distel and Stephan Grapelli. At this time he also worked on scripts for a number of producers based at Bray and Pinewood Studios. He was then recruited by J.Walter Thompson to handle the Dymo Corporation worldwide as well as Bacardi, General Foods and the EU recruitment division internationally. At this time he became involved in the writing and production of TV commercials and he left JWT to set up his own production company. He began directing in 1979 and has produced and directed over 250 commercials for markets as far apart as USA, UK, South Africa, Belgium, Spain, Greece, the Middle East, Australia and South East Asia. Apart from 'Doonby', Peter wrote, produced and directed the feature movie 'Mission Manila' in the Philippines starring Larry Wilcox of 'Chips' fame and Sam Hennings. 'Merchants of War' was shot on a budget of US$4.5 million in South Africa, starring Asher Brauner and Jesse Vint, Both films were released theatrically in the US and internationally. Peter's company Riverhorse Entertainment owns a number of feature film projects that he has written including the paranormal thriller 'The Wedding Present' set in New Orleans in the genre of 'White Noise' and 'The Others'. 'Finklestein's Miracle' is a comedy about the director of schlock B movies who winds up producing a film about the Bible on a budget of twenty grand in a small, redneck but conservatively Christian Southern town. A third project 'South of Memphis' is an atmospheric preacher movie set in 1960s Louisiana. All three projects have been grandfathered to qualify for Section 181 Federal tax deductions. He spent fifteen years of his business life in Asia. Based in Singapore, where he captained the Singapore Cricket Club B team for four years. He also worked extensively in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines and has excellent and long standing contacts with the film, TV and advertising community in the region and is expanding these connections with the fast developing entertainment industry in China.
