At high school, as well as at the Technical University in Munich, one of his classmates was the renowned director Helmut Kutner.

German leading actor, the son of a civil engineer. On stage in Koblenz from 1929, he began in films in 1933. He was best known for starring in Die goldene Stadt and Ehe im Schatten . Klinger continued on successfully through the 1950s and 60s, giving prodigious performances in radio dramas and on television. His screen personae tended to be men of integrity, whether as romantic heroes, faithful husbands or kindly teachers.

Paul Klinger normally worked for television in the 60s, beside it his voice became well-known as a synchrone speaker of Bing Crosby, Jean Gabin, Stewart Granger and William Holden.

He played his first role at a theater in 1929. His breakthrough came with his engagement at the Deutsches Theater Berlin where he impersonated youthful heroes.
