Austrian actor
Prolific Austrian singer and comic character actor. On stage from 1910, he was mentored by Max Reinhardt and first made his name in operettas and revues. He also starred in early silent comedies, moving on to supporting roles by the advent of sound pictures.
His son Oscar Sabo jun. (1922-1978) became actor too.
His real film career began in the 30s. He soon became established as a popular support actor.
The actor Oscar Sabo already made first cinematical experiences in the silent movie era with productions like "Der Barbier von Filmersdorf" .
Oscar Sabo only appeared seldom in front of the camera after the war. To his last movies belong "Wenn Mnner schwindeln" and "Madeleine und der Legionr".
