Olivier Leflaive

Biography

Winemaker Olivier Leflaive sprouts from generations of family winemakers, who have been rooted in the prestigious wine growing village of Puligny-Montrachet since 1717. In 1982, after a successful career in the music business, Olivier became the co-manager of Domaine Leflaive. Two years later, Olivier launched his own wine production company Olivier Leflaive Frères with the help of his uncle Vincent, his brother Patrick and later his cousin Anne-Claude. It did not take long for Olivier to establish his own reputation among Burgundy's finest. Olivier retired in 2010, but remains the flag bearer of La Maison d'Olivier Leflaive, located in a charming 17th century building in the village. Steeped in Burgundian tradition, Olivier strongly believes that the best way to taste his wines is to serve them with simple local dishes. Since the waiters are also sommeliers, this promises to be a unique wine tasting experience.
