Nuton was born as Farhana Amin Ratna in Kishoreganj, East Pakistan . She married film producer and director Ruhul Amin Babul in 1978. For her excellent acting in the film Strir Paona, She received Bangladesh National Film Award in Best Supporting Actress category.
