Spade-jawed British character actor Norman Rossington was born in Liverpool, so it shouldn't be considered THAT ironic that he would end up appearing in 'The Beatles' and, lastly, as Beauty's father in "Beauty and the Beast", made him an endearing favorite in the West End. Cancer claimed him at age 70 in 1999.
Has the distinction of being the only performer, ever, to work in both a Beatles ( A Hard Days Night ) and Elvis Presley ( Double Trouble ) film.
Married twice, he wed his close companion Cindy Barnes just a few months before he lost his six-month battle with cancer in May of 1999.
