Became a theatrical agent and sometime around 1916 met Rudolph Valentino. The two became fast friends. Kerry is said to have introduced Valentino to dancer Bonnie Glass who became Valentinos partner. Valentino returned the favor by encouraging Kerry to try acting. Later the two friends supported one another through the early stages of their careers. Kerry even helped Valentino financially at this time. They appeared in a film together Passions Playground .

Did not have a particularly good speaking voice which limited his career during the sound era.

Joined the French Foreign Legion in the 1930s, returning to the U.S. after Germanys invasion of France in 1940.

Played right tackle on the Hempstead High School football team in Long Island, New York.

Was good friends with taxi dancer Rodolfo Guglielmi (Rudolph Valentino).
