Biography

A native of Swampscott, Massachusetts, Noah Pohl started writing and directing films in high school. His 30-minute short, "Grandma Thug," helped him gain entry into Brown University. There, he earned an Honors Degree in Literary Arts, studying under screenwriters Erin Cressida Wilson, David Grimm and Aisha Rahman. While at Brown, he also co-directed the feature doc, "Mission To Matrimony," which was selected to play multiple film festivals around the world. He followed that project up by writing and directing a short film, "Expiration Date," named one of the Best Short Films of 2008 by Indy Mogul. From 2008-2011, Noah worked as an assistant to writer/producer Sascha Penn , then co-produced and edited the 2012 viral video hit, the "Legitimate Rape Pharmaceutical Ad," condemning U.S. Rep. Todd Akin's controversial comments about "legitimate rape." The video was featured on Jezebel, Gawker, Reddit, The Huffington Post, RT News, The Daily Beast, and Buzzfeed -- which dubbed it "brilliant" -- after garnering nearly a million hits. In late 2015, author and Rolling Stone journalist, Neil Strauss, hired Noah to co-run his book launch campaign for "The Truth: An Uncomfortable Book About Relationships." That release, a sequel to Strauss's massive 2005 bestseller "The Game," went on to become a New York Times Bestseller in late 2015, and later optioned for TV in 2017.
