Formed in Greece in 1948 the Trio Bel Canto had considerable local success with live performances, records, television and film. In 1962 the Trio Bel Canto gave their first performances in the USA and in 1963 appeared on THE TONIGHT SHOW with Johnny Carson. In 1966 the group relocated permanently to the USA.. In 2008 band leader Evangelos Metaxas announced the retirement of the group which he fronted for 60 years..
