Ghanian singer popularly known by as [b]Kontoponi Aferi[/b], hails from Kontoponi Aferi, Kumasi, Ashanti Region. At 30 she joined the [b]Manhyia Tete Nyomkro[/b] group and later by 1958 decided to be on her own. She formed the [b]Kwame Nkrumah Nimdie Nyomkro[/b] group. In 1966 the name of the group was changed to [b]Kumasi Nimdie Nyomkro[/b].
