Wow! I am so happily bowled over by this film!

While writing a review tonight about this bizarre Italiano film, I must say our two protagonists remind me of Putin and Trump. Replete with toupee and pudgy green body shooting money lazers.

I really can't speak to film itself, rather the rating is based on the fact the subtitles via Prime Video which either didn't synch up with the characters speaking, were delayed, or an entire sentence was flashed for a split second making it impossible to read. A shame because the film looked really good/interesting otherwise.

The knock on music video directors working outside the video arena is that their work tends to be all style and no substance. But what if the style is the substance?

Can you imagine a movie that combines the 'human body manipulation' of Rammstein's video clip "Mein Teil", Judas Priest's stroboscopic lightning in their video "Painkiller", the black and white approach of "Pi", together with the weirdness of "Eraserhead" and "Begotten", the hellish production design of Brad Andersson's "The machinist" and the cinematic fetishism of the twin brothers Quay ("Street of Crocodiles" and "Institute Benjamenta")?Probably not.

I first came to this short film through my affection for Lustmord. After hearing and seeing the less than 4 minute version, my attention was piqued, and searched for more, finding the nearly 19 minute one.

He appears to have gotten comparisons with people like Tsukamoto and Lynch for this short, at least from reviewers on here, but the short lacks the more interesting vision of those name dropped incessantly. The imagery and art direction are pretty good, but a lot of the images are reused, so it often feels very repetitive and poorly paced, or like there's no progression, which might be the point, but it doesn't really help the film much.
